I am very impressed with Faronics Deep Freeze. I especially like the timed shutdown feature. Now we can have all of the computers in the lab startup with the BIOS and shutdown with Deep Freeze. I messed up everything I could on the computer and restarted the machines and everything was back to normal. In the past we've had to remove administrator settings from the Windows user accounts so the kids wouldn't mess up the computers, but now we can use Deep Freeze and not have to worry about it! Faronics is a great company and I foresee doing business with you again.

WINSelect has completely taken away the day-to-day problems. Partnered with Deep Freeze, it relieves my tech department from having to touch the machines for anything other than hardware issues. We spend little if no time on the machines that we have this installed on.

Initially, we installed Power Save on two computers and then evaluated it for over a month. In September of 2007, we deployed Power Save campus-wide on all student workstations. Reporting really sealed the deal for us. It makes it easy to associate a dollar value to the energy management methods we have deployed.

I was renewing our Deep Freeze licensing and was looking at Faronics’ new products when I came across Insight. This was exactly the type of program that the teachers were asking for. Since we have over 150 workstations running the Insight client, network traffic congestion was a concern of mine. However, once we had everything installed I did not notice any network slowdowns whatsoever. Some of our labs have computers assembled into pods, it’s great when it comes to fostering collaboration and teamwork between students, but it does make it very difficult for a teacher to monitor what students are doing at all times. Teachers would walk around the classroom to monitor activities, but once they walked to another pod a student could easily visit a game website and stop doing their work.

Deep Freeze and Anti-Executable are crucial to preserving an image determined for mission critical law enforcement systems used 24x7 to ensure reliability and security with minimal downtime and with the least reliance on IT personnel. We currently have a policy that prohibits unauthorized installation of non-department sanctioned/owned software on any department computer. Anti-Executable will serve to increase a user’s productivity by blocking the installation of non-business and harmful files that could prevent the use of a mission critical system.
